Blantyre based Music Malawi (Muma) Awards 2014 Best R&B Artist Nominee, Bucci has released his first new single “Malungo” under one of the country’s successful music companies, Nde’feyo Entertainment.
The new release, produced by Percy “Pro Pee” Manyozo, is the first taste of Bucci’s untitled album due later in the year under Nde’feyo, which he joined in October 2014.
“Am pretty excited about this new release, the fans have waited for so long and finally I have something new for them, something I want them to look at as the beginning of a new page, something I want them to enjoy with me,” says the singer-songwriter and dancer.
Born Bucci Mwale, the singer adds: “And I have plans for my presentation of the live performances of these songs, for the first time on the 28th of March at the ‘Afro Jam Night’ at Blue Elephant”.
Since joining Nde’feyo Entertainment, Bucci has worked on couple of songs and tracks had to go through phases.
According to the stable’s co-director, Khumbo Kabuzi Munthali, “There were listening sessions and after getting feedback we had to go back in the studio. That took long but I am positive that the wait will be worth it because the first single is banger”.
Before joining Nde’feyo Entertainment, the sleek-voiced singer was under the management of record producer Pro Pee at Transformers Music and is still attached to the artist as the co-executive producer of his debut album.
Bucci is one R&B singer in the country whose vocal cords know the definition of amazing and very creative. Apart from releasing a couple of solo singles before, including “Umbombo”, “Ngati Maloto” and “Zitiyendera”, he has featured on several hits that have been dominating the airwaves the past two years.
Some of the songs he featured on are Gwamba’s “Ndiyima Pachulu”, BarryOne’s “Chifukwa Chani”, Diktator’s “Zokhumba” and Flo Dee’s “Mphete”. Bucci is also a member of the new Blantyre-based urban music clique known as Classmates.
