“I’m very excited. These are the biggest awards running in the country and this is what every artist would want to get.I have been hard working and have made such a big progress over the year,” says King Chambiecco. While expressing his confidence that he will scoop the award during MUMAs, he states “But it’s up to the people [the voters] to decide who they want to have the award”.
Gwamba says“It’s an honour to be nominated again for the second consecutive year and I deserve the two nominations, maybe I should have even gotten more”.
Soft-spoken dancehall singer-songwriter, Nesnes states: “I am so happy about it because to me this nomination means that am being recognised by the whole nation. I have worked hard to be where I am so yes I do deserve to be nominated and I look forward to winning my first award.”
All the three artists released new material that dominated the airwaves and online downloads in between 2013-2014 and went on tour across the country last year. In 2014, Gwamba and Nesnes also released their debut albums “Kudutsa Pakhoma” and “Nthawi Yakwana”, respectively.
